Up to 200 homes are without electricity supply due to a power cut caused by an illegal cannabis farm in Blackpool. Residents in Blackpool were affected by the outage at 10.23 am yesterday. The Blackpool Police, in a tweet, stated that ”Electricity North West are currently fixing a fault caused by a cannabis farm.”
”195 homes in the Westmorland Avenue area are without power. This fault should be fixed within the next few hours.” the tweet stated.
Power was restored to the homes around 5 pm yesterday following works carried out by engineers from Electricity North West. A spokesperson for the electricity provider said the blackout was related to an ‘unexpected’ problem with an underground cable.
