TotalEnergies and Simply Blue Group joint venture Deep Blue Pacific Wind are partnering to construct a mega floating offshore wind project in the Pacific Northwest. On Tuesday, the corporation announced that it had responded to the official call put out by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) two months prior by submitting the nomination.
Within the zone designated by the US Department of Interior off the southern coast of Oregon, close to Coos and Curry Counties, Deep Blue Pacific Wind has proposed three smaller areas, each measuring 135 square miles.
The Pacific Northwest reportedly has some of the best potentials for floating wind, according to Lauren Spence, vice president of Deep Blue Pacific Wind.
