Nine consortia have been selected as prequalified bidders for two solar PV projects in the Ivory Coast. The plants include the 30MW Touba scheme and the 30MW Laboa project set to be deployed under the IFC’s Scaling Solar programme, which Cote d’Ivoire joined in November 2019, the seventh country to do so. The Ivorian government tendered the RFQ in June.

The plants will be deployed under a Design Build Finance Operate Maintain model. While about 20 bids were submitted for the RFQ, the prequalified bids are; EDF, Meridiam; Elsewedy Electric; Enel Green Power; Globeleq; Green Yellow; Infinity Power; Nareva Holding; Scatec; and Voltalia. The government aims to deploy 400MW of solar PV by 2030.
