- Renewance and GreenPowerMonitor partnered to combine battery lifecycle services with real-time energy management for BESS in North America.
- Their integrated platform helps optimise performance, extend battery life, and ensure regulatory compliance across standalone and hybrid energy storage systems.
Renewance, a U.S.-based leader in battery lifecycle services, has joined forces with GreenPowerMonitor (GPM), a DNV company specialising in renewable energy asset monitoring, to offer integrated control and lifecycle solutions for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across North America.
The partnership blends GPM’s Energy Management System (EMS) with the RenewanceConnect platform, enabling utility-scale and commercial storage operators to handle increasing system complexity while extending battery life and meeting strict regulatory and recycling requirements.
Through a unified interface, the joint solution offers real-time performance monitoring, identifies optimisation opportunities, and automatically initiates lifecycle services such as preventative maintenance, battery repurposing, or end-of-life recycling. It also helps ensure grid code compliance across standalone and hybrid solar-storage installations.
“We’ve commissioned and serviced over 20 GWh and decommissioned over 100 MWh of battery systems,” said Jamal Burki, CEO at Renewance. “This collaboration marks the next evolution in battery stewardship. We’re not just collecting data; we’re using it to take proactive, measurable action that benefits our customers and the environment.”
As energy storage becomes increasingly central to the U.S. clean energy mix, especially with solar, this collaboration delivers critical operational intelligence and lifecycle accountability to safeguard asset value and improve environmental outcomes.
The partnership positions Renewance and GPM at the forefront of a more sustainable energy future, combining advanced monitoring with responsible battery management from installation through end-of-life.
