Kwara State Procures 30 Transformers to Boost Power Supply

The Kwara State Government has procured 30 new electricity transformers to address power challenges, drive economic growth, and improve living standards across the state.

The Commissioner for Energy, Kola AbdulGaniy, disclosed this on Friday, September 5, at the ministry’s headquarters while receiving the second batch of transformers. He said reliable electricity remains central to strengthening security, supporting small businesses, and enhancing the quality of life for residents.

He noted that steady electricity is essential for enhancing security, supporting small businesses, and improving residents’ quality of life. AbdulGaniy assured citizens that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration remains committed to their welfare.

The commissioner explained that the first batch of 16 transformers was delivered on August 15, while an additional 14 units arrived on Friday, September 5.

In a statement issued on Sunday, September 7, the ministry’s Press Secretary, Rukayat Abdulhameed, said the procurement reflects the governor’s commitment to improving welfare and security. She added that the transformers would be allocated to communities that had previously requested them to ease power shortages.
