Kuwait remains key oil player as OPEC, reaffirming its commitment to the organisation’s strategic vision during its 65th anniversary. Oil Minister Tareq Al-Roumi emphasised Kuwait’s leadership role in supporting the group and strengthening global energy stability.
He highlighted that OPEC’s founding in 1960 marked a turning point for producing countries. From its earliest days, Kuwait actively advanced cooperation, sovereignty over natural resources, and collective development goals.
The minister stressed that Kuwait continues to be a partner in shaping sustainable energy policies. He pointed to OPEC’s success in balancing the needs of producers and consumers while ensuring security of supply. According to him, the organisation’s policies have consistently stabilised global markets and supported economic growth worldwide.
