Nigeria and the Nordic countries are deepening collaboration in energy, digital technology, and sustainable development. This partnership reaffirms their shared commitment to innovation-driven growth.
At the fourth Nordic-Nigeria Business Forum, leaders from both regions explored new opportunities in green energy, digital transformation, health innovation, and sustainable agriculture. The event, hosted by the Nordic Embassies in Nigeria, emphasised trust-building and practical cooperation.
Furthermore, several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) marked evident progress. One, between Nigeria’s Ministry of Innovation, Communication and Digital Economy and the Danish Embassy, will drive digital transformation. In addition, Norwegian firm Empower New Energy partnered with Jendol Superstores and Jeddy Bolema to develop solar and battery projects. These initiatives will help expand Nigeria’s renewable energy capacity.
Meanwhile, government representatives, Minister Bosun Tijani and Finnish Deputy Minister Jarno Syrjälä, stressed that cooperation must deliver innovation, job creation, and sustainable growth. At the same time, Lagos State pledged to become the African hub for Nordic innovation, offering a platform to test and scale sustainable technologies.
Ultimately, Nigeria and the Nordic nations continue to work together to build a greener, smarter, and more inclusive future through technology and sustainable partnerships.
