Feld Energy Begins 1 MW Agrivoltaic Project in Germany

  • Feld Energy is constructing a 2.5-hectare solar farm with 1,610 tracking modules, generating nearly 1 MW, and is set for commissioning in January 2026.
  • The 20-year leasing model provides farmers with over €100,000 in additional income, enabling them to combine renewable energy generation with agricultural productivity.

Feld Energy has begun construction on a new agrivoltaic project in Weßling, located in the Starnberg district. The installation will be situated next to farmland and cover an area of up to 2.5 hectares. It will use 1,610 tracking-mounted solar modules, each rated at about 620 watts. The system will deliver just under one megawatt and is scheduled to come online in January 2026.

Feld Energy offers farmers a 20-year lease model that can generate more than €100,000 in extra income.

Founder and CEO Adrian Renner said agrivoltaics benefit both food production and energy supply. “Plants like the one in Weßling show that agriculture and the energy transition can reinforce each other,” he said. He added that the company aims to give farmers stable, predictable earnings while supporting energy security.

The project reflects Germany’s growing interest in agrivoltaic solutions as a way to expand renewable energy and strengthen farm revenues.
