Nigeria will lead ministerial discussions as senior African government leaders prepare to meet in Cape Town from March 3-5, 2026, to drive investment and policy alignment in the continent’s fast-growing energy sector.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, is listed as a priority speaker at the Africa Energy Indaba. The event will take place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

The Indaba also serves as a premier platform for African Energy Ministers and global industry leaders. Delegates will explore partnerships, unlock financing and accelerate investment across electricity markets.

Confirmed attendees include Birame Soulèye Diop of Senegal; Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa of South Africa; Dr Ruth Nankabirwa Ssentamu of Uganda; and James Opiyo Wandayi of Kenya. Additional confirmations include Matenokay Tingban of Liberia; John Abdulai Jinapor of Ghana; João Baptista Borges of Angola; and Lerato Mataboge from the African Union Commission.

Furthermore, Africa’s energy sector is expanding rapidly as countries pursue renewable energy, gas-to-power, grid upgrades and industrial energy projects. Ministers will use the Indaba to negotiate deals, secure partnerships, and engage investors for bankable projects.

Private sector leaders, developers and financiers will also participate to align investment strategies with national energy priorities. The strong level of institutional participation also reinforces the Indaba’s position as a key venue for shaping policy and attracting capital.

The Africa Energy Indaba remains one of the continent’s leading energy platforms, convening governments, utilities, investors and developers to support project implementation, regional power integration and market development.
