Geregu Power Appoints Sean Manley as Interim CEO

Geregu Power Plc has appointed Sean Manley as its Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective Monday, February 2, 2026. The appointment remains subject to approval by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and the company’s shareholders at the next general meeting.

The company disclosed the decision in a notice filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited on Thursday, January 29. The Board informed investors that Manley brings more than 30 years of experience in the power sector.

Manley has built a career spanning sales, business development, project execution and supply-chain management. He also has extensive experience in original equipment manufacturer-led project delivery.

His background includes deep technical expertise in thermal power generation. He has managed plant construction, commissioning, major overhauls and long-term operational support across several jurisdictions.

Manley spent a significant part of his career at Siemens. During that time, he delivered complex energy projects in challenging operating environments. He also developed strong capabilities in stakeholder engagement, logistics, procurement analysis and commercial strategy.

The Board said the appointment will strengthen Geregu Power’s leadership and operational oversight. Directors expressed confidence that Manley’s international experience will add value to the company.

Geregu Power said the appointment forms part of its broader effort to enhance management capacity and support stable power generation in Nigeria’s electricity sector.
