PadiPlug Launches Power Bank Rental Service at Lagos NYSC Camp

  • PadiPlug has introduced a smart power bank rental service at the Lagos NYSC orientation camp to help corps members stay connected despite unreliable electricity.
  • The app-enabled system allows users to rent and return power banks easily through automated stations across the camp.

PadiPlug has launched a smart power bank rental service at the Lagos State National Youth Service Corps orientation camp. The service provides corps members with on-demand mobile phone charging.

The company installed automated self-service charging stations within the camp. At the same time, corps members can rent fully charged power banks through a mobile application within minutes.

Users can pay hourly rental fees and return devices to any designated PadiPlug station. The system reduces dependence on limited wall charging sockets during camp activities.

Meanwhile, PadiPlug said the NYSC State Coordinator received the team during the launch. The coordinator also acknowledged the initiative’s relevance in addressing daily electricity challenges faced by corps members.

PadiPlug founder Increase Isesele said the service reflects Nigeria’s electricity supply realities. He said young people increasingly depend on mobile devices for communication, safety and productivity.

Isesele said Nigerians have adapted their daily lives around unreliable electricity supply. He said the company designed PadiPlug to reduce power-related disruptions and keep users connected.

In addition, he said the company believes technology systems should adapt to people’s needs. He added that the service removes daily friction caused by limited access to electricity.

Isesele said NYSC camps provide a natural entry point for the solution. He said corps members rely heavily on smartphones for coordination, official communication and staying connected to families.

PadiPlug co-founder Osuagwu Franklin described the service as a lifestyle convenience solution. He said mobile phone charging should be as easy as accessing everyday essentials.

Franklin said corps members already face queues, tight schedules and demanding camp routines. He said reliable charging access should not add to these challenges.

Furthermore, PadiPlug said the stations operate with full automation and monitoring systems. The company said the system ensures ease of use, security and consistent device availability.

The company said the service targets young people who rely on smartphones for digital payments, navigation, content creation and remote work. The solution also supports productivity in low-power environments.

PadiPlug also highlighted their plans to expand beyond the Lagos NYSC camp. The company plans deployment across universities, shopping malls, transport hubs, event centres and public spaces nationwide.

The company said rising smartphone adoption and persistent electricity shortages drive demand for mobile charging solutions. It said the service aims to improve convenience and reduce anxiety linked to low battery levels.
