  • The engagement supports Dubai’s Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and its Net Zero ambitions.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), convened high-level discussions with Robert Hertzberg, Senior Fellow at the Mission Possible Partnership and board member of First Public Hydrogen, alongside a delegation from the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI).

During the meeting, the parties strengthened cooperation in research and development, technological innovation and capacity building. Specifically, they prioritised smart grids, renewable energy deployment, energy storage systems, network modernisation, energy efficiency, cyber security, photovoltaic system integration and advanced data analytics.

Furthermore, the participants explored specialised training programmes to deepen technical expertise and accelerate knowledge exchange. Consequently, they advanced practical pathways to support the global energy transition.

The session also brought together Waleed bin Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence at DEWA, and Ghanim Alqassim, Senior Manager for Solar Energy at DEWA, thereby reinforcing institutional alignment at the executive level.

He emphasised that these collaborations directly support the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050. As a result, DEWA continues to advance Dubai’s long-term objectives in digital transformation, climate action and energy sustainability.

The discussions reinforce DEWA’s deliberate push to position Dubai as a global leader in smart energy systems, hydrogen innovation and clean technology deployment.
