Adelabu, Gombe Governor Headline 2026 Energy Times Awards

  • ENERGY TIMES will honour top government officials and industry leaders for driving growth in Nigeria’s energy sector.
  • Corporate and individual achievements in innovation, local content, and power sector development will take centre stage at the Lagos event.

Adebayo Adelabu, Minister of Power; Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya, Governor of Gombe State; and Akinwole Omoboriowo II will attend the 2026 ENERGY TIMES Award ceremony. The event will take place on April 17 at Radisson Blu.

Organisers will recognise leading industry players and corporate organisations for advancing Nigeria’s energy sector. PANA Holdings will receive the Local Content Company of the Year award. Furthermore, MOMAS Group will receive the Innovative/Technology Leadership award. Egbin Power Limited will receive the Electricity Company of the Year award.

In addition, Joy Ogaji, Chief Executive Officer of the Association of Power Generation Companies, will receive the Amazon of the Nigerian Power Sector Award for her contributions to the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry.

According to Editorial Board Chairman Yakubu Lawal, a panel of industry experts advised the awards process to ensure credibility and strong content. He added that the 2026 edition aims to recognise individuals and organisations driving transformation and improving lives across Nigeria’s energy sector.

Energy Times organises the awards. The publication started as a weekly newspaper in 2017 and now operates as a bi-weekly platform focused on energy reporting and analysis.

Adelabu will attend as Special Guest of Honour and will also receive an award. Meanwhile, Governor Yahaya will be recognised as Energy Governor of the Year for advancing rural and urban energy infrastructure in Gombe State.
