Tango Brook Technologies Limited has expanded its digital fuel payment platform into five African countries within one year of operations. The Nigerian energy technology company announced the expansion in Lagos during its first anniversary celebration.
The company said the Tango App helps businesses manage energy spending and reduce fuel-related leakages. Meanwhile, Tango Brook plans to expand into additional African markets over the next year.

Tango Targets 15 African Markets
Wemambu said Tango Brook plans to enter markets including The Gambia and South Africa. In addition, the company plans to assess other African markets as it expands its digital fuel payment services.
The company targets close to 15 African countries by 2027. Of these, Tango Brook expects to have at least 10 markets fully activated. By the time we’re coming back to this type of forum next year, we should have close to 15 African countries, with at least 10 of them fully activated, Wemambu said.
The expansion forms part of Tango Brook’s broader strategy to use technology to improve accountability across fuel transactions. As a result, the company aims to give businesses greater visibility over energy spending.
Platform Targets Fuel Supply Leakages
Wemambu also highlighted the scale of fuel-related losses across Africa. According to him, an African Development Bank report estimates that the continent loses about 30% of energy annually through fraud and other leakages.
He identified several sources of these losses, including ghost fuel deliveries, meter tampering and fuel smuggling across borders. Furthermore, he cited siphoning as another challenge affecting fuel supply chains.
Tango Brook positions its digital payment solution as a tool for improving accountability within these transactions. Through the Tango App, businesses can monitor fuel spending and strengthen controls around energy payments.
Company Plans Further African Expansion
Tango Brook’s expansion comes as African businesses continue to seek greater control over energy costs and fuel supply. Therefore, the company plans to build its presence across more markets while expanding the use of its digital fuel payment platform.
The planned expansion will include new markets such as The Gambia and South Africa. Meanwhile, Tango Brook will continue operating across the five African countries where it has already established its presence.
Wemambu said the company expects its African footprint to grow significantly over the next year as it works towards its 2027 expansion target.
