Nigerian financial services group Cedrus Group Africa has called for increased investment in cross-border energy infrastructure across Africa.
The group made the call at the Energy Forum for Africa (EFFA) 2026 in Lusaka, Zambia. It sponsored a session on financing regional energy projects.
The session, titled “Mobilising Capital for Cross-Border Energy Projects: From Vision to Bankable Deals,” explored ways to attract investment and strengthen project financing.
Participants examined challenges facing energy infrastructure development across African countries. They also discussed project preparation, innovative financing structures and risk-sharing mechanisms.
The discussions highlighted collaboration among governments, development finance institutions and private investors as a key financing consideration.
Cedrus Highlights Cross-Border Investment Opportunities
Speaking at the forum, Cedrus Group Africa Chief Executive Officer Olubusayo Adeniyi said the group was expanding its focus beyond individual national markets.
He made the remarks as the group marked five years of operations.
“Africa’s infrastructure and investment needs require institutions that can connect capital, expertise and opportunities across borders,” Adeniyi said.
He said Cedrus aimed to support Africa’s growth through financial services, strategic partnerships and investment facilitation.
