Senate to confirm nominees for the management of NERC

The Senate on 1st December is set to hold, the confirmation hearing of nominees for the management of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).
The Senate President, Senator Ahmed Lawan on Wednesday, referred the name of Engr. Sanusi Garba as Chairman NERC; Dr Musiliu Olalekan as Vice Chairman and Aisha Mahmud as Commissioner to the Senate Committee on Power. The Committee is to report back on Tuesday, December 1. Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari in a letter dated October 15th, 2020, requested the approval of the Senate in confirming the nominees for the Management of the NERC.
Engr. Sanusi Garba will replace the current Chairman, Prof. James Momoh. He is a seasoned industry expert and has worked in various capacities in the sector including as, Director, Ministry of Power. He is currently the Vice-Chairman of the Commission.
