On the 14th of December 2020, the IEA published a report on the impact of the pandemic on the electricity market, in 2020. In the report, electricity demand in 2020 is to fall by two per cent.
In addition, nuclear power is expected to by four percent. The report also forecasts electricity demand to grow by three per cent globally next year.
It is expected that with an increase in the employment of renewable energy sources, fossil fuel energy sources would be phased out more rapidly than they have been in the past.
