Nigeria should transition from energy production to consumption
- The statement was made by the Chairman GNPC
- A focus on consumption would improve economic growth
The country has been encouraged to transition from energy production to energy consumption. This advice was given by the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC).
Wunmi Ilebare, GNPC chairman, who made the statement, added that Nigeria possesses a lot of energy consumption potential. He said this potential can be harnessed from fossil fuels even before the country transitions to alternate energy sources.
By maximizing the value chain, Ilebare added that there would be a great room for economic growth and development across sectors.
