- Demands of foodstuff and others were requested of the minister
- He clarified he has a national responsibility to provide electricity supply to rural areas
The Minister of State, Power has decried the demand by people seeking from him, gifts for the yuletide season. Mr. Agba explained that, as a Minister, he is tasked with the responsibility of delivering stable and reliable electricity to the country and as such, he will focus on this mission.
In a released statement, the Minister listed out the successes so far that have been achieved since his appointment. These include the electrification of Bekwara Local Government Area in Cross River state. Bekwara LGA had, for the past six years, been without electricity.
He also made mention of the project to electrify Utanga and the Ranch Resort which will be handled by the Japanese Consortium, JAICA. The project will commence soon.
“We must always bear in mind that Ministerial appointments are given National responsibilities, thus it is quite erroneous to expect a Minister to completely focus on his/ her State of origin”, Mr. Goddy Agba said in conclusion.
