During the weekend, the federal government made known its plans to spend $1.6bn on electricity upgrades in the country. It stated that with the removal of the electricity subsidy, it is important for improvements to be made in 2021.
The money disbursed is to be specifically spent on expanding the country’s transmission network. This year, the FG targets to hit 7,000 megawatts.
Mr. Faruk Yabo, the Director of Renewables and Rural Access, assured that the Siemens intervention program is still on.
