TCS Paymeters Ltd says metering is a gradual process

The Managing Director, TCS Paymeters Ltd, a meter manufacturing firm, Mr. Austin Atakpu has said the metering of consumers is a gradual and not an automatic process. He made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday.
When asked on the poor supply of meters, Mr. Atakpu said the business of meter manufacturing is gradually expanding and with the daily increase in demand for meters, the manufacturers cannot meet demand overnight. “It is not a demand that can be met overnight, because new houses are being built on a daily basis and they require meters,’’ Atakpu said.
He acknowledged the efforts of the Federal Government through the National Mass Metering Program (NMMP). He said the Federal Government is doing everything possible to ensure all households are duly metered.
