- All On and USADF commence 2021 off-grid energy challenge.

Impact Investor All In and the United States African Development Foundation (USADF) has called for applications for the 2021 off-grid energy challenge. The Nigeria Off-Grid Energy Challenge is a joint effort by the USADF and All On to provide angel stage funding for Nigerian businesses that are developing, scaling-up or extending the use of proven technologies for off-grid energy to reach communities not served by existing power grids.

Selected businesses will receive up to $50,000 in convertible debt and $50,000 in grant capital. In addition to this funding, beneficiaries will also receive technical assistance from USADF and governance support from the All On Hub. Support for the 2021 Challenge has also been provided by the Rockefeller Foundation.
24 companies have benefitted from the challenge. these companies have received a total of $2.4 million in blended finance. This year’s $2,000,000 Challenge will provide up to $100,000 per award for up to 20 enterprises.
