FG and Labour in talks over recent tariff increases
- Labour to submit its report by 22nd February
- FG says progress has been made with Labour
The Special Adviser to the President on Infrastructure, Mr. Ahmad Zakari, has said the Federal Government’s meeting with organised Labour has made significant progress with regards to electricity tariff. Mr. Zakari disclosed this on Thursday during the government program, “Have Your Say”.
“There were further changes made in January but, it has been suspended because we concluded that we would not implement laws that are not fully understood by Nigerians. Nigerians need to understand that this Service based Tariff is here to stay,” he said.
Mr. Zakari also explained the Federal Government’s efforts to ensure that Nigerians are protected from the effects of estimated billings and high electricity tariffs through the implementation of the Service-Based Tariffs.
