Ekiti Unhappy With BEDC – Fayemi

The Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, has expressed dismay at the performance of Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) in the state. Governor Fayemi, who was dismayed with BEDC’s performance, said the poor state of supply has negatively impacted Ekiti state. He made this known while receiving graduates of the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN) at his office.

Governor Fayemi also noted the Federal Government’s efforts to improving supply with the recent plans to add two 132/133 KVA substations in the state. He also said the plans for a new Independent Power Plant (IPP) are on the way. “If there is one area that we are unhappy about in terms of our development in the state, it is the availability of electricity. We are on it from day one when Professor Aluko chaired a committee negotiating, discussing with BEDC to improve what comes to our state,” he said.

Speaking further, Governor Fayemi assured that the government would do all in its power to improve the economic situation of the state with the emphasis on the improvement in electricity supply to the state.
