The Rural Electrification Agency (REA) has commissioned a 100kWp Solar Hybrid Mini-Grid at Adebayo Community, Ovia-South LGA, Edo State. This project commissioned by the minister of state for power, Goddy Agba, was delivered under the Rural Electrification Fund’s (REF) first Call for Solar hybrid mini-grid developers. Fanny Frank Global Resources executed the project.

The mini-grid is expected to increase the community’s socio-economic status as it will provide clean and reliable energy that will enable the growth of commercial and economic activities in the community.
The MD/CEO of REA, Engr. Ahmed Salihijo, while addressing members of the community, called for the community to collectively ensure the sustainability of the mini-grid grid.
The Executive Director, Rural Electrification Fund (REF), Dr Sanusi Ohiare, while noting the mini-grids benefits to the community, urged the residents to utilise the facility adequately. He also noted that the REF Call 2, which is underway, will provide more electrification impacts to many more communities.
