A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) called the Coalitions of Arewa Assembly has raised alarm on the alleged plot to end the Eligible Customer regulation. The group, in a statement signed by the national coordinator Mallam Attahiru Usman accused some Distribution Companies of working towards the discontinuation of the policy.
“Cancellation of Eligible Customers which has been a huge relief to Genco and TCN as well as manufacturers that are buying bulk power will wreak serious havoc on business activities nationwide with negative ‘bush fire’ effects on all facets of the nation’s economy.”, the statement read.
Mallam Usman further explained that, if the plot is not stopped, it will have grave consequences for Nigerians especially those in the industries that rely on the Eligible Customer regulation. He called on President Buhari and the National Assembly to do all within their powers to stop the plot.
