GRIDCo to ration electricity to Volta and Oti regions

The Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) has announced the scheduled power outages to the Volta and Oti regions. In a request to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), GRIDCo has requested to schedule outages for Thursday, March 18 to Monday, March 22, 2021.
According to GRIDCo, the outage period will enable it to embark on repair works for transformers supplying electricity to the affected regions. In the statement released by the GRIDCo, it says, “This request is to enable GRIDCo to undertake repair works on their transformer that supplies power to both Volta and Oti Regions through the 69KV transmission line from the Asiekpe Bulk Supply Point”.
The duration of the outages is for at least 12 hours in the affected areas. According to the report, the outages will last from 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am on the scheduled dates in the affected areas.
