Hyundai, Shell Collaborate on Clean Mobility Services

  • Hyundai and Shell have signed a new agreement to work together on clean mobility.
  • Shell is expected to increase its clean mobility solutions provisions to the automobile maker.
  • Both companies will also cooperate in providing energy supply services such as EV and FCEV charging services.

Hyundai Motor Company and Royal Dutch Shell Plc. have signed a new five-year Global Business Cooperation Agreement. This new agreement will see both companies work together to drive the adoption of clean mobility. The agreement will see the companies focus on clean energy and carbon reduction as Hyundai looking to increase eco-friendly production and become a major smart mobility solutions provider. Shell is expected to increase its clean mobility solutions provisions to the automobile maker.

According to Carlos Maurer, Executive Vice President of Shell’s Global Commercial Business, “Accelerating the mobility sector to net-zero will require collaborative pioneers willing to act now and establish the alignments needed to deliver a cleaner energy future.” “We believe we can best enhance Hyundai’s customer service experiences by tapping our EV charging expertise and our deep insights gathered from daily interactions with motorists at our 46,000 retail sites globally.”

Both companies will also cooperate in providing energy supply services such as EV and FCEV charging services. Under the agreement, both companies will run joint R&D programs to develop first-fill lubricants to meet Hyundai’s specific engine requirements and collaborate on the development of on e-Fluids for EVs.
