Ecobank has installed 150 solar power installations consisting of about 11MW of installed solar and hybrid generation capacity across its branches in Nigeria. These systems will help the bank reduce its carbon emissions by over 45,000 tons over its lifetime while saving energy costs. Ecobank’s Executive Director of Corporate Banking, Kola Adeleke, noted at the award ceremony that the bank’s partnership with Starsight has enabled Ecobank to reduce its carbon emissions whilst delivering a cleaner working environment that promotes the Bank’s environmental sustainability policy.
