- Generation dips below 3,000MW
- DisCos implementing Load Shedding
- TCN blames poor gas supply
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has recorded a dip in generation figures. The sector generated a total of 2,930MW of electricity yesterday. The General Manager, Public Affairs, Mrs. Ndidi Mbah confirmed this yesterday. While speaking in a telephone conversation, she attributed the poor generation figures to a shortage of gas. ”Generally, there is gas constraint now”, she said.
Consumers around the country are reeling from the effects of poor generation in the past week with, some Distribution Companies (DisCos) announcing load shedding plans for consumers within their networks. Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) announced on its Twitter handle, the planned load shedding for its consumers.
“While we apologise for the inconveniences this will bring to customers in the affected areas, we promise that as generation improves, power supply to the affected areas will be restored”. AEDC also apologised for the inconvenience caused by the load shedding.
