Wiki-Solar has today released a new list of solar project developers.
- SPIC tops the list.
Today, 28th of April, Wiki-Solar released a new list of utility-scale solar project developers. The list now has a different company as number one. The company is the state-owned State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC).
The company’s rise to the top of the list is as a result of the 2.2 GWac project completed last year. This project was completed by a subsidiary of SPIC, Huanghe Hydropower, in the Qinghai province.
Speaking for Wiki-Solar, Philip Wolfe said, ‘Established energy multinationals are now moving strongly into the solar market breaking the monopoly which specialist solar companies like First Solar, juwi and the late SunEdison used to hold a decade ago’. Other companies on the list include Nextra Energy and France’s Engie.
