COSSUEL approved in Senegal

The Committee for the Safety of Electricity Users (COSSUEL) has been given the approval to carry out certifications in the electricity sector. The COSSUEL will help the country safeguard and strengthen the sector against the use of substandard equipment.
The newly approved body will issue certifications of standards particularly, the SN01 001 standard certificate. In furtherance of its objectives, the COSSUEL has begun the implementation of a training program for private installers. Once completed, the installers will be issued a certificate. The organization will begin a nationwide awareness program aimed at sector stakeholders.
The COSSUEL will carry out a prior compliance check on all electrical installations in line with existing standards and regulations.
