Solad Power Group has said that it has connected its 10,000th small business to its clean energy mini-grids.

The Solad Power Group has said that it has recorded its 10,000th electricity connection, a significant milestone in its bid to provide small businesses with clean energy across Nigeria.
Solad is one of the developers engaged in the Mini-Grid component of the Nigeria Electrification Project (NEP) being implemented by the Rural Electrification Agency (REA). Solad’s portfolio of projects include projects at the Sura shopping complex and the Sabon Gari Market. The company wholly operates and invests in a cumulative of 12 mini-grids across Nigeria which provides clean energy to small businesses.
Solad provides energy to underserved consumers, focusing on small businesses that do not have access or have a reliable supply of energy that has lead to exorbitant energy costs.
Solad is set to expand its services as it looks to provide solar solutions for individual businesses in addition to its integrated mini-grid services. This come as the company was approved as a Solar Home Systems (SHS) supplier by the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).
Solad Power Group’s Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer for Nigeria, Yewande Olagbende noted that connecting 10,000 small business was an achievement the company was proud of, adding that it was a clear validation of the unmet demand for affordable and reliable power amongst Nigeria’s millions of small businesses.
