According to Sunrise, the government has reneged on the two deals the Attorney General, and Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami had made with the company. The government agreed to pay the company US$ 200M to drop all of its claims, while the second deal will see the government pay Sunrise an additional US$ 200M plus interest if the agreed amount is not paid within 180 days.
According to Sunrise’s lawyer, Femi Falana, the company has not been paid by the government despite the minister’s commitment. The complaint asks the court to order the administration to respect the agreement reached last March.
