The plant will require an investment of $13 million and is expected to be operational in the second quarter of 2022.  The plant will be constructed on a 40-hectare site and will be implemented in three phases. Each phase will see the addition of 6.55 MWp capacity with the total capacity being 19.65 MWp

Project developer Voltalia will also install an energy storage system to enable power generation at night. The plant is expected to provide 27 per cent of the mine’s electricity needs. Caledonia raised $13 million for the project via the sale of 597,963 shares in an initial public offering (IPO) on the London Stock Exchange.
