Eskom has once again announced stage 4 load shedding. The energy giant says there has been a further breakdown of its network at the Medupi and Duvha power stations. Recall that earlier on Wednesday, Eskom began implementing stage 2 load shedding.

“These emergency reserves are required to respond to further emergencies in order to maintain the stability of the national grid. Thereafter, Stage 2 load shedding will be implemented as previously communicated”, the statement continued.
The stage 4 load shedding will mean outages last from 2 pm until 10 pm. In an earlier statement, the state-owned utility said, “These capacity constraints will continue for the foreseeable future and all South Africans are urged to reduce their use of electricity”.
Eskom apologised for the load shedding inconvenience the interruptions will cause to its customers.
