REDAVIA to Deploy Solar System at Nairobi Leisure Centre

  • REDAVIA is set to install a carport mounted system at a leisure centre in Nairobi.
  • This follows a similar installation by the company in Ghana.

REDAVIA is set to install a solar carport system at Wadi Degla, a sports and leisure centre in Runda, Nairobi. The carport system will power the centre’s facilities and provide shading and protection for vehicles. Many companies are looking to deploy solar energy to avoid erratic supply and cut energy costs given the increase in fossil fuel costs.

REDAVIA  will monitor and provide regular maintenance of the solar unit. Wadi Degla’s Operations Director Ashraf Nasim stated that the centre has been searching for ways to reduce its carbon footprint and operational costs. The solar system presents a cost-effective clean energy source. “We are looking forward to the design and functionality of Redavia’s solar carport. Wadi Degla club is thrilled to have found a partner who understands the balance of our three energy goals: to decrease our carbon emissions, to lower operational costs, and to provide our customers with a premier luxury experience,” he added.

In March, REDAVIA installed a 428kW solar power system at Shalimar Flower Farm in Naivasha, its biggest installation in Kenya.
