NIGERIA: Ikeja DisCo Inducts YEP Trainees

Ikeja Distribution Company (DisCo) has inducted 20 young engineers into its Young Engineers Programme (YEP). The programme is a comprehensive developmental programme focused on improving the technical capacity of young, dynamic, self-motivated and highly driven talent in the engineering field. The programme will last for a period of twelve months, where inductees will undergo hands-on intensive training with Ikeja DisCo.

Speaking at the induction ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer Ikeja DisCo Folake Soetan said, ”The key is in ensuring proper knowledge transfer from our very experienced technical workforce to the engineers coming on board; that is the one way to ensure that we remain relevant to the needs of our customers, guaranteeing our esteemed customers who depend on us for power, a reliable and qualitative service”.

The YEP, which is in its sixth year, will also afford the inductees the opportunity to be mentored by industry professionals.
