NIGERIA: State Commissioner Inspects Electricity Projects

The Niger State Commissioner for Works, Alhaji Mamman Musa, has inspected several ongoing electrification projects in 12 communities in Lapai Local Government Area (LGA), Niger state. He commended the status of the projects and said the projects would enhance economic development in the state.

The projects carried out by Electricity Power Development (EPD) are located in Kuchi, Gbami, Favu, Dagbaje, Abugi, Gupa, Alaba, Emirokpa, Chepa, Pelemi, Jankara and Gbedu communities in Niger State. These projects will electrify these communities and promote the development of the agriculture sector.

The Commissioner stated that the projects, which include seven transformers connected to 33kVA lines, would be certified and commissioned by Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) upon completion. The projects commended the Niger state Governor Abubakar Sani-Bello on his commitment to improving the economy of Niger state through rural electrification.
