- Trina is looking to expand in Africa and the Middle East.
Solar module manufacturer Trina Solar is set to launch a new distribution facility in South Africa. The company says that the new facility is part of the company’s plans to expand its activities and presence in the African region and meet the growing demand for solar in many segments, including residential, commercial, industrial, farming, and agriculture.
Trina Solar Middle East and Africa MD and VP Antonio Jimenez stated South Africa’s status as the best structured solar market in the sub-Saharan Africa region and the largest commercial and industrial market makes it a good location for the distribution facility. “Our new opening will further add to our growing footprint in the African continent, which allows our customers to find the product locally through our network of resellers and distributors,” he added.
Jimenez adds that Trina intends to be a major player in Africa’s solar energy market by introducing cutting edge technology and innovation to the region with reliable products of the highest quality standards, coupled with unparalleled customer-centric service.
Trina Solar has shipped over 66GW of modules globally and set world records for silicon cell efficiency and solar module power output.
