NIGERIA: EEDC Takes Sensitization Campaign to Schools

  • Urge students to avoid tampering with electrical equipment

The Corporate Communications Team of the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) led by, Mr Emeka Ezeh, has taken the awareness campaign to schools in Enugu state. On a visit to Lady Ibiam Girls Secondary School, Mr Ezeh sensitised the students on electrical safety and equipment vandalism; he stated that the students have to shun illegal activities within their environment as leaders of tomorrow.

”Our organisation decided to adopt the approach of training up a child in the way he/she should go so that when he/she grows, he/she will never depart from it”, said Ezeh”, Ezeh stated. ”We need to train and educate our children in the right direction on the use of electricity, especially for their safety anywhere they are”, He said.

The sensitisation campaign by the EEDC is an annual activity aimed at creating awareness on how electricity works and the dangers of tampering with electrical equipment and installations. So far, the campaign team has visited Trans-Ekulu Girls Secondary School, National Grammar School Nike, Government Secondary School, Government Technical School, Uwani Secondary School, New Haven Secondary School, and Citadel Schools, Maryland Enugu.
