- Korea to experience heatwave until month’s end
- Temperatures are expected to rise above 40 degrees celsius

The Korean heatwave is expected to stay until the end of the month. According to Korea’s Meteorological Agency, a heat dome would cover the lower and upper part of the atmosphere of the Korean Peninsula after Monday, with temperatures expected to rise above 40 degrees celsius.
According to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Power Exchange on Sunday, the electric power reserve rate fell below 10GW with increased electricity demand and consumption.
In addition, an emergency alert may be issued if the reserve rate falls below 5.5GW. If issued, this would be the first emergency alert in 8 years. The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy has predicted the power reserve rate to hover around 4.2% to 8.8% and hit a low of 4.0GW on the fourth week of July.
