NIGERIA: LASG Holds Stakeholder Consultative Session

The Lagos State Government (LASG) held a Consultative Session for energy sector stakeholders. In attendance were the Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Olalere Odusote, among other stakeholders. Speaking at the session, Odusote stated that the energy policy is a necessary factor for the state’s socio-economic development. He reiterated the commitment of the LASG in driving electricity improvement in Nigeria’s commercial city.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Excredite Consulting Limited and Former Commissioner for the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) Eyo Ekpo, who was at the event, said,  “Electricity Reliability for Lagos State means, supply that is available to any customer in the State Electricity Market in the desired quality and quantity at the time it is needed.”

Attorney General and Commissioner, Lagos State Ministry of Justice, Moyosore Onigbanjo, noted the willingness of the LASG to collaborate with the Federal Government on the transition to becoming an independent state electricity regulator.

Odusote sought the cooperation of stakeholders in working with the LASG to achieve its plans for an independent Lagos Electricity Market (LEM).
