  • Alleges 14 members plotted to impeach the President General

The Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Companies (SSAEAC) has expelled a total of 14 senior members for anti-union activities.  The President General made this known at a press conference in Lagos. Chris Okonkwo, who was allegedly impeached, has called the decision by the National Executive Committee (NEC) null and void.

Okonkwo alleged the sacked members formed a splinter group of the union, played ethnic politics, and plotted to impeach the President General of the union. He condemned the activities of the expelled members and stated that their actions were driven by personal ambition and not the union’s success. Okonkwo also alleged that the activities of the expelled members were sponsored by the sacked former Managing Director of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Usman Gur Mohammed.

The President General stated that the members remained expelled until they take steps to reconcile with the union.
