Swedish start-up Clean Motion plans to begin producing its solar-powered delivery van ‘Re.Volt’ from the fall of 2022. The van is fitted with solar panels on the roof. Clean Motion stated that the solar panels provide an additional over 100 km range bringing the full range of the EV to about 400 km. In addition, the van’s batteries will provide a range of between 70 and 280 km/day while the maximum range from solar energy at 130 km/day.

According to Clean Motion’s CEO, Göran Folkesson, the solar roof increases the efficiency of the vehicles, making them energy sufficient. He also adds that only 40kg of batteries will power the vehicle for a range of 280 km, suitable for climates where there is solar unreliability. The van has a size of 300 x 140 x 170 cm and weighs only 250 kg. The van has a cargo space of 2,500 litres, accommodating about 700kg of weight when loaded.
