Spanish-Japanese renewables company Univergy Solar has announced that it has started the construction works on a roughly 4.5MW PV plant in Spain on Wednesday. The plant called, Salinetes I, the solar farm, is being built on a 6.5-hectare (16 acres) area in Novelda city, Alicante province.
The plant will comprise 10,780 solar PV panels. Univergy plans to connect the plant to the grid in the first quarter of 2022. The city government acknowledges that the plant is the first that has broken ground out of a series of clean energy projects that the government has in its portfolio.
Univergy Solar has over 10.9GW of renewable energy capacity in its portfolio across 16 countries.
