- Spanish energy companies Iberdrola and Prosolia have partnered to deploy solar projects on the Iberian peninsula.
- Both companies will invest €850m to deploy about 1.5GW of projects.
Spain’s largest energy provider, Iberdrola and solar energy developer Prosolia have agreed to invest €850 million in developing four solar power plants with a cumulative capacity of 360MW in Spain 1,140MW in Portugal. The Portugal project will be cited in Santiago do Cacém, about 200km south of Lisbon. Iberdrola will own 50 per cent of the proposed plant, which Prosolia will develop via its subsidiary Sunshining. The plant will utilise Tesla energy storage solutions, according to the developer.
While no details have been released regarding the plants in Spain, Pedro Pestana, a member of the Prosolia board, noted that the “alliance also includes the possibility of collaborating on new projects in the future.”
