- President to commission Pokuase Bulk Supply Point

President Nana Akufo-Addo will today officially commission the completed 580MWA Pokuase Bulk Supply Point (BSP) substation. Construction works began at the Pokuase BSP in 2019 and was completed in May 2021. The project cost $64.72 million and is the largest power substation in Accra.
Funding for the project was provided by the United States Government through its agency, the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), as part of the Ghana Power Compact II Programme. The substation will improve the operations of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo).
Also attending the signing ceremony are the US Ambassador to Ghana, Stephanie Sullivan, and officials from the ECG, GRIDCo and Ministry of Energy, among others.
