NIGERIA: Governor Ishaku Raises Concerns Over the Lack of Access Roads at the Mambilla Hydropower Project

The Taraba state governor, Governor Darius Ishaku, has lamented the lack of access roads to the Mambilla Hydropower project located in the state. Governor Ishaku, who met with the Board of the North East Development Commission (NEDC) and some members of the National Assembly, stated that the project site could only be accessed by a helicopter.

”This is the road that leads to the hydro-power site, but I am telling you there is no access road to the site except if you go with a helicopter.” Governor Ishaku said.

He urged the members of the National Assembly to facilitate funding for the construction of the access road. “I urge the distinguished senator to use his good offices to encourage the Federal Government to release funds so that we can continue the road construction from Abong to Kanye-Aka and from there to the project site.” Governor Ishaku said.
