- DG BPE inaugurates YEDC Board
The Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) has inaugurated the Board of Directors of Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC). The Director-General BPE, Alex Okoh, inaugurated the Board. Earlier this year, BPE announced the successful sale of YEDC to successful bidders, Quest Electricity Nigeria Limited (QENL). QENL paid the purchase fee of ₦19 billion to the Federal Government (FG)
The FG and Quest Electricity Nigeria Limited signed a Share Sale and Purchase Agreement in July. QENL also committed to the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) of YEDC for the next two years, which involves an investment of at least $68 million in the electric utility operations.
